Outdoor Recreation
Parks, trails, waterways, and day trips — the DMV's best outdoor escapes.
One of the things that surprised me most about living in the DC area is how much nature is woven into the city. From 1,700-acre urban forests to waterfalls just 45 minutes away, the DMV offers an incredible range of outdoor experiences — and you don't need a car to enjoy most of them.
