Bonus Day at the Mike Ferry Superstar Retreat: Arriving in Hollywood, Florida

Robert Clarke By Robert Clarke · September 15, 2026 · 3 min read

I am writing this from the bonus day of the Mike Ferry 2026 Superstar Retreat: I arrived a day early, so this arrival evening lands on the bonus day before the retreat formally begins tomorrow. After the drive in, I checked into The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida, got my credentials, and took a quiet minute to absorb the fact that I am settled in ahead of the official start. This is the first entry in a short daily series I am sharing while I am here: real, first-person notes from the retreat, because the whole point of the trip is to sharpen what I bring back to my clients and readers in the Washington, DC area.

Arrival

Arriving at The Diplomat After Dark

The Diplomat sits right on the beach in Hollywood, and by the time I got there the sun was long gone. The entrance was fully lit up at night, with the DIPLOMAT BEACH RESORT sign glowing over the driveway, and it had that unmistakable feeling of a place where something big is about to start. Walking in off the Florida evening, knowing the whole retreat is ahead of us, made the trip feel real for the first time.

For anyone following my DC living guide from home, here is the short version of why I am here: the same retreat I previewed on the blog earlier this month is now actually happening, and I am on the ground for it. My goal for the week is straightforward and a little selfish in the best way, I want to pick up everything I can at this retreat and carry it straight back to how I advise DC-area buyers, sellers, and readers, the same way I bring neighborhood guides and market updates home from around the DMV.

Check-In

Checking In at Registration

Check-in and retreat registration were exactly as smooth as a well-run conference should be: a bright, modern lobby with a big living plant wall, a scan-code sign for the retreat check-in, and a short walk to get my badge. Nights like tonight are quieter than the conference floor will be, but you can already feel the room filling up with agents who came a long way to be here, and I am glad to be one of them.

That is the bonus day so far, in the honest, low-drama way these evenings always are: get there, get checked in, get ready, and get ready to work. The real work starts tomorrow, and I will be back here each day of the retreat with the next update.

Day by Day

Following Along, Day by Day

I am planning to share an update every day of the retreat, so if you want to follow along with my daily recap series, the blog is where each entry will land as I post it. If you are thinking about buying, selling, or just exploring the DC area from where you are right now, you do not have to wait until I am home, I am always glad to talk while I am away. Reach out anytime through the contact page and I will get back to you.

For the full picture of what this retreat is and why it is a fixture on my calendar, my earlier overview, Mike Ferry's Finish Strong Superstar Retreat 2026: Why This Real Estate Conference Is Worth Your Time, covers the event in depth. Tomorrow: Day 1, and the first full day on the conference floor.
